Stud Fees

• English Bulldog stud fee of $450 or Neapolitan Mastiff stud fee of $2500 plus shipping fee of $75 is required in advance. Shipping is via FEDEX or UPS Next Day Air.  
• Shipment for the second and third vials require shipping fees of $75 each for FedEx or UPS Next Day Air.
• During collection there will be a semen analysis to make sure the stud's semen is of sufficient quality to produce puppies. Extender is added to enhance the longevity and the motility of the semen.
• Please call as early as possible, so the semen can be sent without delay. We will need to know before 4:30 pm if you need semen for the next morning. NOTE: Before shipping semen everything must be paid in full to avoid delays. RUSH SHIPMENT* is an additional $25.00

'Mida' is an International Champion Neapolitan Mastiff born in Italy to internationally recognized breeder Michele Palazzo.  Mida was raised and championed in Norway by Trine Gustavsen of The Witches Melting Pot Kennel.  We brought Mida into our home when he was two years old. 

Mida is an outstanding Neo.  He weighs 175 pounds and has a very sweet, gentle disposition.

Oliver is an AKC registered red and white English Bulldog.  He weighs 65 pounds and is very blocky and compact.  Oliver has a very friendly, 'clown like' disposition.

Dog breeders can now benefit from cooled semen shipments that have been used for 25 years in the horse breeding industry.

After the semen is collected, an extender is added to maintain longevity and motility of the sperm. The sample is then packaged and shipped to you via UPS or Fedex.  

What You Need to Provide

Inseminating with shipped semen is very similar to inseminating with fresh semen, but there is more planning involved to ensure the shipment arrives on the best day to inseminate.  We will need the following information from you;

1. A copy of your female's pedigree.
2. The first day of your female's heat (if using a veterinarian he can tell you what day the semen will need to be inseminated).
3. When you will need the semen. We need to know the day prior so it can be shipped overnight for next day morning delivery. We will need to know before 4:30 pm if you need semen for the next morning. NOTE: Before semen is shipped all fees must be paid in full to avoid delays.
4. Contact name, shipping address, and phone of who will be receiving the shipment.

After Receiving the Sample

Check the Motility

• Motility of the semen sample always should be checked prior to insemination.
• Motility analysis should always be performed on samples warmed to 37°C (chilled sperm can appear non-motile or sluggish until warmed).
• Gently invert the sample tube several times to mix.
• Using a pipette, place a drop of semen on a pre-warmed microscope slide and cover with a pre-warmed coverslip.
• If available, keep the slide on a slide warmer or a heated microscope stage for a few minutes before checking the motility under the microscope.
• If your veterinarian does not approve of the semen quality, do not inseminate the female and contact us immediately.  

Preparing for Insemination

• You may chose to inseminate the entire dose, or save half for insemination on the next day. Enough semen will be shipped for either case.
• Gently invert the sample tube several times to mix.
• If you chose to inseminate on two consecutive days, draw up half of the semen dose into the insemination syringe and store the remaining sample in the refrigerator overnight. (Divide the sample into two doses before warming. Do not warm the sample then re-cool it.)
• Warm the semen sample to be inseminated in your hand or pocket for a few minutes.
• Inseminate the female immediately.
